If you miss the Badaguan area when you’re visiting Qingdao, then it means you haven’t fully seen Qingdao.

Badaguan Area - The World Architectural Exhibition

Badaguan holds the architectural styles of more than 20 countries and regions, such as Russian, English, French, German, American, Japanese, and Danish buildings; has led people into knowing the Badaguan area as the World Architectural exhibition.

What Badaguan Means:

The name Badaguan means “eight roads” (now increased to ten roads) and refers to the eight famous passes in China. The Shaoguan Road, Jiayuguan Road, Hanguguan Road, Zhengyangguan Road, Linkuaiguan Road, Hanguguan Road, Zhenyangguan Road, Linhuaiguan Road, Niwuguan Road, Zijinguan Road, and Juyongguan Road, each crisscross to make a large scenic area in Qingdao.

Both sides of these ten roads are full of green trees and flowers. There lots a big variety of trees here. In Shaoguan Road, there are peach trees, in the spring, the pink blooming makes the whole street look like a pink ribbon float on the street. At Zhengyangguan Road, there are lagerstroemia planted on both sides, the summer blooming made of pink, purple and red fills the whole street. In Quyongguan Road, there are red maple trees; the autumn frost added the red to entire street. Zijingguan Road, is planted ever green cedar. Ningwuguan Road, crabapple, from spring to fall they never stop blooming, so there comes another name for this street, the “Flowering Street”.

Badaguan is open year round and free to public.

Take bus: #26, #304, #315, #31, #202, #212, #228, #316, #321, #501, or #801 get off at Wushengguan Road.
