Qingdao Naval Museum(青岛海军博物馆) was built in 1988, and opened in 1989. It was the first specialized Navy Museum in China. It covers about 40,000 square meters.
It's located west of Lu Xun Park, north of the Little Qingdao Isle, and west faces to the Qingdao Bay.
The Naval Museum has three main exhibit areas: Military uniform and gifts exhibition hall, weapons and equipment exhibition area, and the ship and Naval Warfare history galleries on the sea area.
The indoor exhibition hall displays about 1200 pictures to show ancient and modern Chinese navy history, uniforms, badges, and about 230 gifts from friendly exchanges with other countries.
The Weapons and equipment exhibition area has retired battle ships, aircraft, missiles, amphibious tanks and more.
The sea area has retired destroyer, missile frigate ship, submarines and more.
